The Piedras Verdes Ranch is in the state of Sonora, Mexico, and it was one of the places I got to visit on my trip to the Alamos area in 2002. One of the people I was traveling with had grown up in the area, and the ranch was owned and worked by his grandparents when he was growing up in Mexico. At the time of our visit it was being run by one of his uncles.
As luck would have it, on the day of our visit, the vaqueros, or cowboys, were working at branding the calves, so that made for some interesting photo ops. Other points of interest in the set are some shots of the desert landscape, the old adobe home once occupied by my friend's grandparents, his uncle with two of his granddaughters, and a forlorn donkey.
