The Villa Hermosa is a fine example of Mexican Spanish colonial era architecture. The stately home is built around an inner courtyard, which is surrounded on all sides by a colonnade with Spanish arches. This is the residence that my friends and I stayed at on our visit to Alamos in Sonora the Christmas of 2002. The week of Christmas we had the place entirely to ourselves, and only when we were leaving right before New Year were Mexican tourists showing up to celebrate the New Year's holiday. We had a blissfully restful time there, as you can imagine.
I have given this set the same bright watercolor treatment that I have given to all the photos from our trip to the area. Featured are architectural elements of the residence.
