Privacy Statement
Last updated: July 2026
This privacy statement explains what information is collected when you visit photographybyjohncorney.com, who has access to it, and what you can do about it. I've tried to write it plainly rather than in legal language. If anything below is unclear, please get in touch and I'll do my best to answer.
Who Runs This Site
This blog is run by John Corney as a personal photography and digital art site. It is hosted on Blogger, which is a Google-owned platform, and it uses a number of Google services (described below) along with a small number of third-party services. I don't sell, rent, or share visitor information with anyone.
Google AdSense
This site displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and to other websites. This information does not include your name, address, email address, or telephone number.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. For more detail on how Google uses your data, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Amazon Associates
This site is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn small commissions by linking to Amazon.com. When you click an Amazon link from this site and subsequently make a purchase on Amazon, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon uses cookies to track referral traffic. For details on how Amazon handles visitor data, see the Amazon Privacy Notice.
Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the blog. Google Analytics collects anonymous information about visits — such as which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, general geographic region, and what type of device is used. It does not collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifying information.
If you'd prefer not to be counted in Google Analytics data, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which prevents your visits to any Google Analytics-enabled site from being tracked.
The Contact Form
The contact form on my About page is a Google Form. When you submit a message, the content of that message — along with any information you choose to include (your name, email address, or other details) — is stored in a Google Sheet accessible only to me. I use this information only to respond to your message and don't share it with anyone else or add it to any mailing list.
Blogger and Google Platform Cookies
Because this blog runs on Blogger, standard platform cookies from Google are set when you visit — including cookies related to security, session management, and (if you're signed into a Google account) recognition of you as a Google user. Google's use of these cookies is described in the Google Cookies Policy.
Third-Party Content
Some posts on this blog include links to external sites — most commonly to my Redbubble shop and to YouTube videos I've embedded. When you click through to those external sites, or when embedded content loads on the page, those third parties may set their own cookies. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not by mine.
Children
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the contact form, please let me know and I will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or delete information that has been collected about you, and the right to opt out of certain uses of that information. If you have questions or want to exercise any of these rights, please use the contact form on my About page.
Changes to This Statement
If I make significant changes to this privacy statement, I'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Small clarifications may be made without a formal notice.
