International Garden Photographer of the Year Contest

Ranunculus Flower Print
(c) John Corney 2010
You probably don't have to dig too deep into your computer hard drive to find something to enter into the International Garden Photographer of the Year contest. After all, who doesn't have photos of flowers?

The contest is hosted by Kew Gardens in London, perhaps the most famous botanical gardens in the world. The categories to which you can enter photos are:

Plant Portraits

Garden Views
Wildlife in the Garden
People in the Garden
Wildflowers
Trees

The £10 British pound (approx $16US) entry fee is levied for each category you enter. Each £10 fee allows you to enter up to 4 images in that category. You may enter as many categories and photos as you like.

Cash prizes are generous - £5000 for the grand prize winner. There is also a portfolio prize of £2000.
There's not all that much time left to enter - entries close at midnight on November 30th GMT. (There's a countdown clock on the competition homepage that will help you determine the equivalent of Big Ben striking midnight in London on November 30th wherever it is that you live.

All the details of the contest can be found at http://www.igpoty.com/.
