Dandelion Seed Head

photo of a dandelion seed head
This dandelion seed head was growing out of a rock wall at Beckett Point, WA. It was still in perfect shape. When I was a kid growing up in New Zealand, we used to believe that the seeds that floated on the air when we blew them were fairies. Are kids taught to believe that too in the U.S. I wonder?
