More Photos from San Joaquin Marsh

Egyptian Goose at the
San Joaquin Marsh May 2011
I just added several more photos to the San Joaquin Marsh gallery starting from image 35.

Included are stills from the photo video I posted in my previous post featuring the American Avocet attacking the Mallard duckling.

Of note in the new photos is one of an Egyptian goose. Yes, a little far from home, but it appears these exotic birds are escapees from zoos and/or private collections and now establishing themselves in this area. The first recorded sighting I found online for the San Joaquin Marsh was from May 2009.
