In this gallery of images from Wanganui, New Zealand, you'll find some of the spots I visited scouting for some of the more "grungy" locations in my hometown for a subsequent photo shoot with my niece. All of these locations are at or near the Whanganui River mouth, the old Wanganui port (which has been abandoned for many decades since the advent of "container shipping" which requires deep-water ports), and the Wanganui coastline. I hope you find some interest in these images of the "grungy" side of Wanganui.

Celebrating Aotearoa New Zealand: My Kiwi Pride Collection

100% Kiwi Typography T-Shirt My mind constantly wanders back to my homeland of New Zealand, especially after my recent trip there with four of my friends from the U.S. I have only deepened my appreciation for Aotearoa and its unique culture and magnificent landscape. While I am already counting down the days until my next visit "way down under", I needed a creative outlet to express that connection right now. Between tending to the native Arthropodium cirratum and Pseudopanax ferox flourishing in my garden, I sat down to design something to help others express their Kiwi pride too.
