Halloween Special Offer

Happy Halloween, Everyone! Do you have fun lined up for yourselves or your kids today? No doubt you will have your cameras at the ready if you do. Here's the deal: send me your best pics of yourselves, your kids, or your pets, and I will give them the treatment. You've seen my digital watercolors and the videos I make using my photos, so for the first 10 people who send me their best Halloween pictures, I will give one or more of your pictures one of my treatments and then include them in a video. I'll send you the photos I work on so you can print them if you wish, or just keep as part of your personal collection.

Here are the rules:
  • You are the copyright owner of any photos you send me - they are your photos, not someone else's
  • You agree to my publishing both the before and after versions of the photos at my photography blog and website, Facebook, and/or YouTube in the video version

So go out and have fun and send me your pictures. Just send me the files straight from your camera; don't make any adjustments to them yourselves - leave that to me. Go to the Contact Me page for my email address.

Cool Granny in Her Austin A35 — © John Corney 2026 This one has a real backstory, and I'd like to tell it properly. An Auckland Sighting On one of my annual visits home to New Zealand, I was walking through central Auckland — at the corner of Queen Street and Karangahape Road (K Road, as everyone calls it) — when a small yellow car went past me and stopped me mid-stride. It was a beautifully kept Austin A35, one of the little British runabouts that were everywhere in New Zealand when I was growing up in the fifties and sixties. Driving it was a woman of a certain age with the confident bearing of someone who had been driving that same car, or one like it, for decades. She looked entirely at home behind the wheel.
