Eaton Penstemon (_MG_9615)
A member of the figwort or snapdragon family, the penstemon gets its name from the fact that it has 5 stamens. The name is derived from the Greek words pente, meaning five, and stemon, meaning a stamen. The fifth stamen lacks an anther, the pollen-producing part of a stamen.
