MacGillivray's Warbler Still Life
This MacGillivray's Warbler flew into the glass slider onto my patio one morning with a very loud crack. The poor guy died on the spot.
I found it quite upsetting to see such a beautiful bird die like that. Something moved me to take a photo so I lay his head on a pillow of lavendar and took his photo.
As I rode my bike to work that morning I couldn't but help think about him, and I wrote this poem in my thoughts as I rode. along the river.
